Thankful for the Thermapen

I just got home from a two day work trip and walked in the kitchen. Something smelled funny so I took out the trash. Wasn't in there. Opened the fridge... yup! Someone apparently pressed the wrong button on the door "several" times and set it to 46 degrees. The temp control button is right next to the crushed or cubed ice button. What I was smelling was a whole chicken still in the cryovac. I poked it with the thermapen and it was 46 degrees and must have been there for a couple of days. Time to clean out the fridge!

Lol. You're temping your garbage now.

While I haven't taking a reading of my trash yet, I am always looking for an excuse to use my new British Racing Green pen (now a collectors item on its way up in value).
