Reverse seared steak

So I've never heard of this until joining this forum. Read about it today since I had planned on steak for supper tonight. I must say my first attempt was pretty successful. It was the best steak I've ever made, and I've made some good ones. Sorry no pics, but I inhaled it before I thought about it. I didn't cook it on my egg, instead I used my Weber, but I'll try it on the egg soon. I appreciate all the different info I get from the folks on this forum. As a newbie I am learning a lot.

@HoosierDaddy - Why would you admit this ^^^ ? I use a weber as well, but it's because I don't have my egg yet. I've never understood why people get up in arms when someone references the use of another grill on this forum. I get it. It's a egg forum. Is that the only grill everyone here has ever cooked on?

Lmao...yeah yeah I got it. Next time I'll use the egg, and post pics. Went with convenience since I was repairing my deck, and that's where the Weber is.

Once I switched to reverse sear, that is the only way I will cook steaks now. I used to sear them in cast iron then finsh in the oven. I liked that better than grilling direct over propane or charcoal. However, reverse sear on the egg is a whole another level how good it is. I quit adding seasoned butter to the steaks, and they are still better.Victoria, TX - 1 Large BGE and a 36" Blackstone

We've failed if we've taught you to use (throwing up a lil bit) your Weber.
Seriously though awesome you nailed it regardless of vessel. When you do it on the egg if you have a CI pan utilize it for the sear. You'll be happy you did. Egg on my friend.
