Beer BUTT Chicken in BUTT Rub

Spatchcock spatchcock spatchcock yeah yeah yeah I know I know.

But anyway on with the show...

Did my first beer butt chicken (with Heineken) at the weekend and used some BUTT Rub to enhance the skin. Turned out fantastic although could have used less beer and therefore had more to drink.

Plus that BUTT Rub is a salty mistress! Think I'll use a little less next time.

Looks great! I still do beer can on my small egg because it fits better IMO. Honestly I think it just as good it just takes a little longer to cook. I don't waste any beer though I use an empty can or add a little h20 just to weigh the can down.

Next time use the vertical roaster without a can. Let the hot air move through the bird for better results.

I've used a can of Sprite before instead of beer. Only difference I could tell was I had extra beer to drink. Although I usually have to remember to buy Sprite if I am going to do that. Beer is usually at the house.
