You said it goes all the way through to the center of the base?

Some people have had luck with JB Weld, but reading the MSDS I personally wouldn't.

Not sure about high heat silicone.  In order to stop crack propagation you would have to drill a hole as a stress relief at the end of the crack.  I wouldn't try that either.

Are you sure it wasn't there already and maybe you missed it?  If so, I wonder if original seller could make the claim for you.  It's a bit of a reach, here, I know.

@Collins87  - I was the newbie asking about the value of used eggs.   I don't think anybody would say "i told you so" - I sure wouldn't.   I feel sick for you. That really sucks - especially on the first day.

I agree with others to who suggest taking a run at the seller.  Good luck.

Well I figured why I didn't see it when I bought it. I went back out to look at the egg after it cooled down no crack to be found any were.  I guess the heat caused it to expand. I have emailed the owner and texted her back haven't heard anything from her

My opinion only, but I'll bet you get years of use from it before it becomes a serious problem - if ever.  I think someone mentioned here that a new base costs about $300.

I would look at it as $400 spent for years of good use and then potentially (maybe never), $300 for a brand new (with warranty) base.  Not the best outcome, but still pretty decent.
