<p />bacon1.jpg[p]Since we are having a self induced coming clean party. These are bacon, lettuce and mayo sandwiches. I HATE tomatoes. There I said it. I think the devil created them in his own image. They are to over powering for burgers and bacon to me. LOL[p]Cooking bacon on the egg is a challenge at best, but very rewarding. Especailly using cherry wood.[p]Hope everyone got off to a great week.[p]Mike

Car Wash Mike,[p]Man I gotta try that. I always sneak it from the top of meatloaf or a chuck roast, never cooked it on purpose.[p]What are the times and temps. Guess it keeps well in the meat drawer (if there is any left)??[p]~thirdeye~[p]PS I go for avacodo on BLT's.

    thirdeye,
I go 425-450 indirect. No time since slices vary in size. The smoke rolling out of the egg makes it a challenge.
Pull bacon out eariler than you would a skillet, it keeps cooking.
    Wouldn't that be a BLA?[p]Mike

  • Yo Mike, My dad's favorite sandwich was a BLT with home grown tomatoes and cherry smoked bacon.[p]I had a good smoked sandwich today for lunch. Cold Smoked turkey breast and thin sliced smoked deer summer sausage with a layer of cherry smoked bacon topped with cheese. Served on Italian bread with a small dallop of Ranch dressing and Griffin's Sweet Mustard. MMMMMMMMMM-Good![p]Yeah that bacon doesn't have much of a shelf life when it hits the fridge, does it?[p]Lager,[p]Juggy

I admit as well to not liking raw tomatoes. But my favorite BLT uses fried green tomatoes. Very Good!! Also green tomatoe pickles on biscuits w/ bacon is also very good!!
