You could blacken it on a CI griddle/skillet with a little creole.
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

I do them both 2/3 times a month on my XL with the L Brackets cooking both indirect at 400/450 then going direct with EVOO and Raging River and they always come out/Charlotte, Michigan XL BGE
