Steak and Brats

Stopped in to Fareway after work to see what looked good for a birthday celebration. They had sirloin strip steaks on sale so I decided to give them a try. Got home and put them into a hot bath for an hour give or take while the egg got hot and the other fixins were established.

Not sure but I'm really tired of the way the photos get entered into this so called "upgrade" which really stinks. I can't seem to figure out how to rearrange them so anyway. Out of the water bath the internal steak temp was 86 F and the egg was sitting at a nice 500 so I started the brats while the garlic/lowrys blend got happy on the steaks. Steaks cooked about 3 mintues a side or so and pulled them at around 125. Plated pic didn't seem to save to the phone but plated with some pan fried youkon gold potatoes and onions. Steaks were way more tender then I had anticipated and quite flavorful.

Finished off the night with some warm lemon cake with lemon frosting and ice cream my 5yo picked out which was Super Chunky Cookie Dough.
