It is warming up this week in a lot of places. I'm sure many of us are dusting the snow off the eggs and firing them up for the first time in a while!
What'd ya cook?
For me, due to weather, work and ski trips
I don't think I've grilled in a month. I've been reading the posts on here just thinking about my next cook and today the temp hit 59 degrees! Woohoo!!!!
With the frenzy of a dehydrated man in the desert, I sat at work wondering what I could pick up on the way home and grill. Not enough time to thaw something out of the freezer. SWMBO'd was going to be out tonight but I still had myself and two kids to feed, that's excuse enough to grill.
Decided on a simple quick cook that could feed the troops before they mounted a mutiny. The 4 year old is particularly prone to leading an uprising. Arrrgh! Rum would be necessary for the cook. Went with London Broil-

It wasn't fancy or complex. But it hit the spot and the kids loved it.
Success!

Is that pirate a candle or a cup? Cracks me up.

LOL... Cup! I have a whole set of them....unfortunately.theyolksonyou said:Is that pirate a candle or a cup? Cracks me up.

(FWIW - I didn't realize until yolk posted his reply that we have a TON more smileys to choose from now. You can post anything that shows up on the Emoji Cheat Sheet! Actually, that's a different set of pictures but the expressions are similar.)

Hmmmm....this forum seems to be pulling from a different list. You can see the valid ones popping up when you type a colon and then words that match....

Boy, I single handedly sent this off the rails. Sorry.

What's this thaw you speak of
JK
Partially egged by HuskerMaMa... smothered burritos with roasted Hatch gravy, refried beans with more roasted Hatch, rice made using Hatch gravy juice vs water, fresh salsa and guacamole...& but of course Margaritas.

Our snow generally comes pre-thawed.
ill be cooking sometime this week if we can get home from kids stuff. -
I made some simple meximelts last night. Although I grill all winter long, it was nice to roll the egg out of the barn and grill. These were simple but amazing. Just grilled steak and chicken, sliced thin, then added to a burrito shell with shredded taco cheese. Wrapped back up individually in foil and put back on the egg for about 10 mins at 400 deg to melt. Simple and fast..

Ok. Wound up with a sick kid so no lacrosse tonight and I got to cook. No forethought so stopped at the grocery.
Pork tender loin, S&P cooked to 138. New potatoes, red and yellow, baby Bellas sprouts with dried cherries and bacon.

Had some of that prethawed snow mid way through. Got kinda wet. -
Now that's a mid-week cook and a full grill!
Can you close the lid with that CI pan pan up there?
