Cutting handle off of cast iron?

I'm looking for some cast iron for my Mini Max and came across this on Amazon:

How much effort would it take to cut the handle off of that and make the cut clean?

If you have a vice, just clamp where you want to cut and use a hacksaw with the vise as a guide.------------------------------

30 seconds with an angle grinder =)its not hard, a couple minutes at best

I agree with tarheelmatt. I took off a cast iron handle within a couple minutes using a hacksaw"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

A hacksaw and an angle grinder would make a great combination. I used a hacksaw to get close, a bench top grinding wheel to remove the sharp edges, and a hand file to finish smoothing up the shape. Probably 15 minutes total.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds very possible. And at $15, definitely something I can afford to mess around and try with.Steve

Gas axe!!!! (aka cutting torch) That's the most fun, but a metal cutting wheel on a grinder will just as well in about 10 seconds.

Quite easy! And practice makes perfect!

Or just buy this one. This is what I've been using in my MM. It's a little more $ but, it allows you to do even more imo.

@RRP ... now why would you keep four cutoff CI handles? Except as heavy duty spacers.

if you cut metal, best is little oil on the cut line and a slow blade speed. did I mention a slow blade speed.

I like to watch the sparks fly using a die grinder with cut-off wheel, and then more sparks rounding the corners with the bench grinder. Then be sure to season the bare metal before rust sets in.
