2 Bone in Pork Butts,

2 pieces around 7 1/2 to 8 pounds each, I plan on smoking at 250 with some cherry chunks and plan on putting them on at 6 AM and eating at 6 PM. Am I on track?

Cook to temperature around 200°F in the center of the pork butt. For 8lbs, I think it will take you 14 hours. It is approximately 1.75 hrs per pound at 250°F. I always foil and cover with a towel and stick it in the cooler (FTC) for alteast 1 hour before pulling the pork.
Lately I have been using the turbo method suggested by Mickey. Works great for Pork Butts. Takes approximately 6 to 7 hours depending on the size of the pork butt.LBGE & MiniOrlando, FL -

It seems I'm always behind on butts. I tend to start around 270 dome and adjust up if I'm running behind. You can bump all the way to 350 or so with no harm.
