Best of luck, with help from this forum you will do fine, in fact great!
Thanks. This forum is freakin' awesome.!!! Infinite cooking knowledge at your fingertips.  Would have been lost without it.
  • For my large the bottom vent will be open the thickness of 1/8-3/16" and the daisy will have just a sliver open with the pedals closed to hold 225-250. With the setting you just described I would be setting at 325-350.
Just made the adjustments. Hopefully will settle shortly.

It will settle in. Just don't open the dome if you don't need to. Each time you open it allows more oxygen and it'll take time to settle in regardless. Enjoy the ride.

Yes. This is a pic of my small daisy but the spacing is what my large looks like to hold 225-250

Almost completely, maybe enough to get a toothpick through the petals. At least on my Eggs.
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.
Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.
  • Just checked and now down to 200.  Is it better to open daisy wheel or bottom vent to bring temp up?

If you are not using a controller of any kind start with the daisy wheel, if it doesn't come up in 10 minutes open the bottom a little more.  I'd open the daisy wheel completely and see what happens to your temp. This is the pain of chasing temps when you haven't done this before on your Egg. Not a problem, just not fun if you want to sleep.

Great looking meteorite!  Enjoy the eats-and don't slice til ready to eat.  It will dry out before your eyes.  And I'm in the slice and eat the point-no burn ends here!  FWIW-
