Fire box repair

So my fire box broke into two diffrent peices the other day. I glued it back togother and used red devil furnace cement and fire place mortar. My bge dealer recommend it. It say it will hold up to temps of 2000 degrees so we will see. Has anyone evered used this stuff before.

My firebox just cracked this week. I emailed pics to my dealer and they are sending me a new one. Did they have you do this for a temporary repair til you get a new one?

Mine just sits in my egg in two pieces. No need to glue. It can last for years in two pieces, the stress is gone now.

Yea the two peices did fit back togother but there was a little gap on one side that's why I decided to glue it. We will see if it can take the heat.

I was recommended by mad hatter to use a 2000 degree fireplace repair kit. Didn't make it one cook.
