A-Maze-N pellet smoker

wanting to get one so I can cold smoke some cheese, fish, and some bacon. Is the tray or tube better?

I just did 12 lbs. of assorted cheeses with an A-MAZE-N Pellet smoker tray at 0 degrees outside and the smoke was perfect again. This is the second time I have done this exact same smoke and after 6 weeks of waiting for the first batch to age, the cheese tasted great. I love the tray! Now I wait again.

I have the tray and it works well. Just need to preheat the unit with pellets in over for a bit before lighting it so they don't go out. Good little tool for the arsenal for sure.

So far I have not had to preheat the pellets, just light with a propane torch for 45 seconds and let burn with lid on the Egg open for about 3 mins. before adding cheese and closing the lid.

        Good luck, Have fun!

  • The tray is much better than the tube. I have both. The tray uses fewer pellets but still smokes for several hours. Either way, it is useful to have a small blow torch to light it.

Thanks I ended up with the tray. Going to try some cheese and buckboard bacon later in the week
