Love the green lightning shrimp recipe found here on the forum that I have experimented with the skirt steak. I marinated for about 8hrs and it would probably better served with a over night. Made some mango salsa and typical condiments for the taco/fajita eats. We enjoyed the skirt steak this way. The shrimp are always assume.

I still think it ridiculous that such a "cheap" piece of meat is above $7/lb. I remember when it was a buck something/lb or less.

Oh my. Thanks for reminding me about those shrimp. I haven't done those in awhile. :-bd

Looks great. I searched the forum and found the original thread which was just for shrimp.
Did you mix this up with the lime and let the meat marinade in the same recipe for 8 hours? You didn't get any cooking from the lime juice?
Looks great and I'm always looking for new ways to make skirt and flank. Here's the last time I made it, and it just occurred to me I have a couple nice flanks in the freezer now...

Just made the same blend as for the shrimp. Saw no cook on the meat from the lime, do not think it effects meat like fish. Was very good with the mango salsa, It surprised me.Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

Looks great! Really cool idea. The sauce seems pretty similar to chimichurri so it makes perfect sense!Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Where do you find those skewers you used for the shrimp?

I would have to ask The warden, but we have had them a long time and do no think she will remember. But I will inquire, can't hurt.Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

The wife state who know on the were about of where we acquired the skewers. Griffin I would recommend a overnight marinated if you do the skirt. The 8 hrs was good but I bet over night would be better. Good luck and enjoy.Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

GreenWave36, I have been able to find big long flat metal grill skewers pretty readily (flat is great for small items as they are less likely to spin around when you flip) BUT I happened to see this double set yesterday at Crate & Barrel and figured I'd share it. Looks great for shrimp and I'm sure you can buy 'em online;

@mgoblue0484 you can also put @ before the name. It only works if the name doesn't include spaces.If you use the @ then the user gets a notification: <user> mentioned you in <thread>.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@SmokeyPitt ...cool. Didn't know that! (these threads would be a lot more efficient if we had like/agree buttons! LOL)

Just use the search and put in green lighting shrimp and it should come. It's basically, green scallions, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, and I think some cumin.Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow
