Anyone know the size of the nuts that hold the band?

They are 5/16" Grade 5 nuts and bolts.

Ok, we have two different sizes. Let me be more specific. What size are the nuts for a large BGE?

One answer is ID conventional method of identification on answer is OD what size wrench do you use. Both are correct.

Are you talking about the bolt/nuts that tighten the band on the egg? If so, then as Jason said ... if you head off to your local Ace Hardware, you'll be looking for a 5/16" course thread Grade 5 nut. When you go to install it, you'll grab a 1/2" wrench.

Or, are you talking about the nuts that hold the hinge to the band? Then you'll need a 1/4" course thread acorn type nut. And, you'll install it with a 7/16" wrench.

Sorry for the unclear question, been a little sleep deprived. I should have asked what size wrench is needed to tighten the nuts and bolts that hold the band to the egg. Thanks guys, got it!
