I've never done beef ribs before. Recent posts are making me think it's time to give em a try. Debating on back ribs or short ribs, and the difference in cook time and method. Any advice would be appreciated.....

If I have the choice, short ribs. However, finding uncut short ribs nearby isn't as easy as finding back. And this is just another reminder I'm out of short ribs in the freezer. Might need to take a trip to RD tomorrow. The kids will love that outing...They/Them

I did Bison Short ribs a while back and they were superb. Used Kevin Rathbun's beef short rib recipe from the BGE cookbook.

Back or short ribs-either will produce great eats. For me the cook process is about the same so the driver is what rib cut is readily available.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

I have found that many of the recipes mentioned are also on the BGE web site, for example:Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I agree with @lousubcap- they are both great and cook the same. I actually cooked both side by side recently and they were both great.Nanook said:I've never done beef ribs before.
