What kind of store did you buy your BGE from?

  • Bought mine at The BBQ store in New Haven,IN.  It is an amish guy named Sam Schmucker that owns it.  He is the nicest and most helpful person I've dealt with in a long time.  I was there over an hour just talking about the Egg and he answered every question I had and gave me some great tips.

Got mine from a tire dealership. This guy sold eggs as a sideline. His passion for the egg was apparent. Along with a very competitive price , that is where I purchased my egg.

Nice. Rotate your rubber and fondle an egg.
  • Picked mine up at a hardware store. They had great service and free delivery. I knew more about the egg than they did before I bought it. Think all the prices in cincinnati are about the same. Mother ship sets price . Dealers can wiggle on the extras. Works that way on a butt load of products. I sold telescopes for a few. And if you didn't follow the Man. He would yank his product. Could be wrong on the egg. If I am ,sorry mothership. Beam me up anytime. Love your product tip my foil hat to you

I got mine at the only dealer within 100 miles... a pool supply store.  Wasn't a great experience.  I was more knowledgeable about the product from my online research and this forum than the dealership was...  I was originally looking for a large, but they only had an XL in stock and they kept making it sound like it would be a big hassle and long wait to get anything else in.  Wouldn't budge on the price either, pretty close to full retail.  Guess i'm a sucker though because it still came home with me, and i'm glad it did.  one of those purchases where I could have had buyers remorse after getting bent over on the sale, but because of its performance, i'm ok with the value i got.  Really glad i went with an XL though instead of a large, already love the extra real estate!

I was pumping fuel when two guys in a white van pulled up. They had a bunch of paradigm speakers and eggs in the back. I went with the egg. I still think it might be a fake, but I don't really care at this point.

My XL BGE was a Christmas gift from my dear wife. She purchased from a True Value Hardware store in Sun City West, AZ.
I had been looking at a Weber bullet for some time, but hadn't committed to the purchase. My son got in her ear & suggested a BGE as he had seen Bobby Flay use one on the cooking shows.
The week of delivery, she told me that I needed to be home to receive my Christmas gift. I figured whatever the gift was that the UPS or FedEx driver needed a signature.
So around 10 am, the doorbell rings. There's a guy holding a clipboard confirming the address. I looked over his shoulder & in a company pickup truck were two other guys, and a BGE in the back.
I looked the guy holding the clipboard & said, "This can't be correct". He questioned my name, I said yes that's me. He said where do you want it?
I was tripping out! In shock! Completely Blown Away! Trembling ...
Umm ,,,, I said.... through here to the back.

The 3 guys rolled the thing off the truck, up the driveway, through the house, to the patio, inserted the fire box, & fire ring. Gave me the once over quick instruction & said there's lots of YouTube videos about this. I signed their paper & they left.

I stared at it for some time, inspected it, rolled it across the patio, brushed it off, stared at it some more, still in a state of euphoria. Wow, what a day.
Needless to say, she received a big hug, kiss & thank you when she got home.
    I've been blessed.

Local fireplace shop where we bought our gas insert.  No one owned an Egg, but they had studied up pretty good and were pretty knowledgeable.  My cracked Egg was their first warranty claim, and we 'learned together'.  Had my replacement in just a few days, so they did good by me.

Purchased ours from Outdoor Furniture World in Winston Salem NC.  The salesmen was very helpful, not pushy and great to deal with.  Price?  probably about the going rate.  The store was beautiful and had some of the most beautiful furniture and outdoor kitchen equipment I've ever seen.

Mine was purchased at a plumbing supply store, not by my choice, they have not been good with warranty, or customer service regarding eggs. I have adopted Eggs by the Bay as my new dealer and  go to guy,Smitty the Smoker,he's top notch, and Dale Hdw in Fremont  if I'm in a pinch.

  • You guys have heard my story, I purchased mine from a window and door store, basically a lumber yard. The current update is that the mothership sent me my parts and I actually received a call from the man my wife purchased the egg from. He said he couldn't undersya why BGE wouldnt warranty my egg. I told him, I don't know what the dealership agreement is with BGE, but if you don't want to warrant it, you shouldn't be selling it. He said he would kore than likely be drooping the BGE line from his hovel of a lumber yard.

Atlantic appliance and hardware in Wilmington, NC. Awesome guys to do business with.

I got the large, nest, side tables, two bags of lump, some smoking planks, rub, BBQ sauce, ash tool, grate gripper, plate setter, and a cover for 950. That was in 2009.

Both of mine came from a farm implement dealer, Prairie Ag Supply, in Prairie City, Iowa. They have a very nice display and sample cooks at the Iowa State Fair and that is where a buddy of mine said to get in touch with them. Very knowledgeable about the product, great service and much better prices than local dealers. I had to drive a bit to get them but have been extremely satisfied with their service. I guess the highest praise I can give them is that if I buy again, I will buy from them. If you go to their business they have huge multi-hundred thousand dollar farm machines along the driveway as you approach the building, but when you get inside there is a prominent display of Eggs and accessories and when talking to them it is obvious that they are enthusiasts of the product. If just driving past their store I would never suspect what was within.

Bought my large from Homecrafters (patios, spa and outdoor cooking) in Fresno.  Was actually in there buying a spa and saw the Eggs as I was in the market for a Treager, so bought that too.  Wonderful customer service for the spa and the Egg.

Sure am glad they had all those Eggs on the floor or there'd be a fricken Treager on the patio instead, that's SCARRY.

  • I bought my XL from my dealer, @Owossoegger .  I wish he was active on the forum because he's a real nice guy.  I bought my small at the Indy Eggfest a couple of years ago and my mini from a guy out of his trunk.  It was a CL buy, but I hope he didn't get it because it "fell out of a truck!"

I bought my LG at a BBQ store. The salesman was very friendly, but not that knowledgeable about the EGG. While we were talking, an EGG owner walked up and joined our conversation. He should have been the salesman! After talking with with him for ten minutes, I pulled the trigger. He was so excited and passionate, I knew it was a no brainer.

  • St Simons Ace. They offered to assemble and deliver but I live fifty miles away. Unassembled was easier to pick up and carry to the back yard. It is a modern hardware store but they still sell nuts, bolts and washers. Knowledgeable staff.
