Ok, I've had my egg since about a week before Xmas. I was smoking on an electric Masterbuilt smoker before. Well that got my feet wet and I decided to dive in. Been having some fun and I thouht I'd post a few pics of my maiden voyages. Ribs were the fist smoke, then the pizza. Today I'm doing the shoulder with the cyberq been on since 6 am and holding temp great all day. Anyone else using this device?

CyberQ rocks, especially for overnight low&slow in colder weather. Total peace-of-mind and pinpoint accuracy. For short cooks, I don't bother with it.
-
Well colder weather qualifies, it was about 18 degrees when I put it on this morning. About 25 now, about 9 hours into the cook and only peeked once
-
And why did all my pics post sideways lol

Welcome were are you located nice looike foodTrenton ON 1 mbge for now

Welcome. Because you post them the same way I do. Can't figure it out half the time :-?

It's the phone. Turn your phone sideways when u take the pic and it will be straight up when u post! Welcome aboardBrandon, MS

My Samsung works fine except for picture quality. It's my I phone and pad

Tried something different , the insert button did that

That's 10 hours in, internal temp at 150. Got a bit to go.

First pic was wrong, that's 10 hours in ;-)

Stop lifting and looking. That's the hardest part to learn. Trust the egg. Be the egg

Looks good!

Haha, I know the rules, if u see the drip pan I had to add some liquid. Speaking of liquid I just noticed my hand is empty, off to the fridge

I use just a touch of liquid if I want to save the drippings . Duck fat is better than bacon grease . I.m.h.o -

Pictures taken on a phone often do have a life of their own. I have an iPhone 4S that takes excellent pictures and sometimes they are sideways and sometimes they aren't regardless if I use landscape or portrait in the original taking of the picture. The simple fix is to download them to your PC, open them in any program, and "turn" them the correct way. Simply save them back as the same name and to the same location.Turning my head sideways shows an excellent cook.
I wouldn't worry much about it though as it's far more important to cook right.BillFrom the deep south...land of saltwater fish...west central Florida -
Typically, on the iPhone hold home button to the right yields correct pic orientation. :-B
-
Yep I agree that it usually works. But there are issues with it that sometimes rears it's ugly head and it simply doesn't do what it's suppose to do.theyolksonyou said:Typically, on the iPhone hold home button to the right yields correct pic orientation. :-BPlus why should I use landscape holding to "fix" an issue with Apple? My understanding is that there is an app that will fix it but hey...why isn't it right in the first place? I'm a computer Guru and often these odd ball problems are something that just simply slips through.Anyway. It is a simple fix if you download it first to your PC before posting it here....or anywhere.BillFrom the deep south...land of saltwater fish...west central Florida -
@Sameydog I'm too lazy for all that. I'm always either on the phone or iPad. If it's crooked y'all just have to turn your damn heads. B-)
-
Hahaha...yep I said the same on another thread. But just in case someone is as anal as I am then my advice holds true.theyolksonyou said:@Sameydog If it's crooked y'all just have to turn your damn heads. B-)BillFrom the deep south...land of saltwater fish...west central Florida -

Some chick just talks and asks questions when I hit the home button. He'll just like home. Now I know why the call it the home button. :-@ -
