Holler!! I'm stoked to use this bad boy this weekend.. Was thinking about joining the Ballotine party, though I don't know I have a chance with all you masters here. Gotta start somewhere though right?

Just received mine and it's going to get a workout this weekend.
Large Egg with adjustable rig, Kick Ash Basket, Minimax and various Weber's.

I've had one for almost 6 months and it works great for me. His bigger more expensive brother is faster though. When doing night cooks like steak you will want to wear a thermo glove. Happy cooking.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

You'll like it. Mine gets well used.
If you've got time, you should definitely try doing the ballottine throw down. There's only been a few members post one in the last year. You have as good of chance as anybody else. This will probably be one of the most interesting competitions we've had yet.Steven

thermoworks makes excellent equipment. I have a thermapen and love it!! I just bought my dad a red thermopop to match his Kamado Joe Jr. that I bought him for Christmas.I honestly think that an instant read is an absolute necessity for any level of griller out there. Great pick up!!!

I bouht one over the holidays to used it in the house. (got a DOT as well) I was tired of having to run in and out to get my Thermapen which reside in a storage box beside the Egg. Like mosthave said, it is a 'little' slower but as accurate. Perfect for everything from cooking to baking!
Enjoy!
