I have been using the Vortex and find it quite useful for reducing coals when I'm just cooking steak for myself -it comes up to high temperature very quickly. For indirects I prefer my PS or my AR.

Looks like it would be useful for some applications. Possibly more so on a weber kettle though. Cool, thanks.

I can't see buying it for my egg, but if I had a kettle still I would.

I picked one up about a year ago and love it. I primarily use it on my weber kettle for wings. They have come out perfect with minimal effort everything I have used it.

I could see it being great for finishing sear on SV cooks

someone posted a beer can style chicken cook as shown in bottom right of your linked page - chcken in side the funnel, surrounded by lump at the same level. he claimed it was better than rotisserie chicken. I'm a believer.canuckland

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will order a few and play around with one to see what benefits I can find, I like the whole chicken idea with lump around it.

I saw it, bought it and can't wait to use it. it will contain lump charcoal when I do wings next time. maybe this weekend!
