Being that I am 55 years old...any move on the field is a football move to me..sure didn't look like he was in the stands being an observer...certainly didn't look like a hockey move...or a soccer move.....or didn't look as if he was making a BGE bacon move

The Dude..a Mini and a Large Egg..a DigiQ DX (BGE Green)..some Cast Iron...a Thermapen.............and an Ol' Fashion

I was hoping for the weather to create another ICE BOWL showdown on the FROZEN TUNDRA of Lambeau Field in Green Bay WISCONSIN against the Dallas Cowboys.
See ya later Jerry
I hope I'm wrong here but I don't think anyone save for the Patriots will be able to beat Seattle. we'll see though

Lifelong Cowboy fan here. Hundreds of Sundays where the Cowboy game was required family viewing will do that to you. So I am a homer, but that call was still crap - whether it was a bad rule or a bad call, that was too pivotal a moment in a big game to reverse a completion on the field based on an ambiguous rule interpretation and the actual evidence. Even the ref making the call can't explain it in terms that football fans can agree on, hours afterward:"Although the receiver is possessing the football, he must maintain possession of that football throughout the entire process of the catch," Steratore said in a pool report. "In our judgment he maintained possession but continued to fall and never had another act common to the game. We deemed that by our judgment to be the full process of the catch and at the time he lands and the ball hits the ground it comes loose as it hits the ground, which would make that incomplete. Although he re-possesses it, it does contact the ground when he reaches so the repossession is irrelevant because it was ruled an incomplete pass when he had the ball hit the ground."- NFL referee Gene SteratoreIt's a dumb rule and Steratore is the guy who brought us the Calivin Johnson rule to begin with. I guess when you create something you want to use it?All that said, I am more pissed and disappointed with the Cowboys themselves than I am with the ref's call. Bad calls are part of football. The Cowboys could have won the game with or without that BS call but they didn't get it done (as usual).-----------I feel a whole lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.

Rule 8, Section 1, Rule 3, Item 1: Player Going to the Ground.Item 1: Player Going to the Ground. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is completeThis is why Dez's "catch" was not a catch. I think it is a dumb rule, but it's a rule. When Dez landed prone during his fall to the ground the ball jarred loose when contacting the ground and he pinned it against his shoulder.
Except when it isn't a catch. Even if Dallas scored, they didn't have the game. There were four minutes left and GB was moving at will on offense. They had scored on 3 consecutive possessions.tjosborne said:A catch is a catch is a catch. Too bad dez wanted all the glory of the game too, Dallas had that game.
