First brisket/cyberQ

Good morning everyone,
Have been ageing a brisket for the past two weeks and it has made its way onto the grill.
Thanks to my wonderful wife for getting me a CyberQ I am beyond excited. It is about -16 degrees C outside and it does not even matter.
Everything is working great so far and I got it running in ADHOC mode. I am just researching if I can get it to email me in this mode or not.
I tried the pit pal and it does not allow me to connect to my Guru it states that I need to get the pro version. When I go to buy the pro version it states it's not available. So that's a bummer if anyone can help me out and clarify if I can get ADHOC mode to email me that would be splendid!

Found my answer I guess, I figured it wouldn't work just based on how networks work.

I am pretty much sure that you can not use the Cyber Q in AdHoc and get the email to work. In AdHoc, the Guru is paired with a Device, not the entire network. So it will have not have access to the internet.Besides that, the email system needs to be NON SSL, and there are very few Non SSL servers out there. They (BBQGURU) has a workaround for this. Once you get it all set up via network, send me a message and I can walk you through it.

I am leaving it in ADHOC mode for this cook, but next time I will setup as a networked device.I am finding that with the temperature being cold outside it is having a hard time passing 200*F, I Think I might need the bigger fan (25CFM) than what it came with (10CFM).XLBGE, MMBGE, CyberQ

you shouldn't need a bigger fan. How did you light your fire? If you only lit one small section, there might not enough "flame" to get the temp up.BTW, how open is the fan Damper?

Ahhhhh, Classic!!! Yeah, now we are cooking with peanut oil! I checked and was partway opened. The fire was started well as usual, lit four spots stirred it around and was well developed before it even got started. The damper was the issue.XLBGE, MMBGE, CyberQ

Alright guys, need your help on what to do. the brisket has been cooking for 10 hours and I am probably another two hours away. I really wanted to rest the meat for an hour and the guest are on their way and I said the dinner would be in an hour and a half from now. I wanted the internal temperature to be at 180* it is currently at 161*. Could I ramp up the temperature to make sure it gets done in time? Or will this negatively affect the meat?XLBGE, MMBGE, CyberQ

Raise it. 300 will be fine.

So, how was it?

It was great! Did not have much time to rest it, so it was a little tougher, it didn't fall apart on me like I have seen some of your guys photos and videos but the guests loved it! Next one will definitely be an overnight cook.
