If you have any antique shops nearby, you can sometimes find nice Griswold or Wagner pieces. Around here (CT), the prices are very good. I bought a couple of 5 qt DOs for $30-40 ea. Skillets are $15-20. Last I looked anyway. Couple of years ago. When I visit Mom in VA, I sometimes look in the antique shops there. Prices are horrible.I have no idea how much Lodge stuff costs. But it sure is easy to find!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

What are you using to make the grid that high?
-
There are lots of ways to do this. You can buy a woo or ar from ceramic grill store or use beer cans, fire bricks, metal L brackets.mtbguy said:What are you using to make the grid that high?

I got a Lodge 8 qt at Gander Mountain. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but I got it on sale after Christmas last year. Just remember to get one with a flat bottom. Some Dutch ovens are maid for cooking on a wood fire and have feet on the bottom that may interfere with the BGE grill grate.Victor ChelfHouston, TXJust one Large BGEVisit my Victor's Vittles blog - dedicated to my Big Green Eggventures

The ones with legs are typically called camp ovens. When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)
