Ordered the A Maz In smoker also during the CyberMonday sale. Was supposed to be here last week, but delayed till tomorrow. I've had my eye on this little thing for a couple years.

Nice!! I think it's been a good year! Egg isn't even a year old yet and I've cooked some really good food.

One thing I've started to use the pen for is to insert it slowly into the meat in a cross grain manner ... turkey breast, chicken breast, pork loin, etc.. You can actually see the temp gradient from one side of the meat to the other. That works better for me than jabbing to where I guess the middle of the cut is at and hoping it isn't next to the bone.

Steaks are different ...
