Well took the plunge and am SMOKIN BABY! I have been an avid smoker for many moons and come from a long line of smoking elders. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all of you amongst other neophytes that have committed to Egg-Zen. I am a researcher by nature, and thus spent countless hours pouring over your posts and listening closely to the code talkers of the BGE world. Words like "spatchcock" at first cause my posterior to pucker and was sure this was some sort of flaying of..well.... you get the idea, and until initiated in a very secret clandestine meeting where I was required to stand in my boxer shorts and wave my hands over a smoking egg did I come to grips with the brotherhood I now belonged. I wrestled between Large and the XL and after careful consideration went with the XL. My needs vary and wanted to insure I would have capacity for the masses if needed. (ya never know when there could be a zombie apocalypse and every living relative takes refuge at our humble abode.).

My wife about had a heart attack when I told her I had DONE THE DEAL...the lacerations are healing nicely thank you very much. Now that the beast has been "broke in" for the recent holiday and is being used frequently she "had" started to warm up a little. My predilections for gadgetry are a curse the men in my family suffer from and it's those absolutely necessary gadgets that are sending her into a spin so she's now suffering from "spousal frigidity". It's worth it...This to shall pass as the wonders of the almighty egg with seduce her pallette into submission once I own all that's needed.

    Thanks to you all!

    Ed

Reflecting back 5 months ago...lots of carnivorous fixings under the bridge. My bride is now a convert and is most happy at the mention of a cook. We have spatchcocked chicken weekly as well as yardbird arms.
Funny how ones life and culinary indulgences change literally overnight. We'll after my initial investment and a few hundred later I am compelled to once again Thank all of you for your sound advice and gentle guidance. ..
At 5 months I'm still a noob and have much more yardage to cover before becoming a veteran egger however our journey thus far has been magnificent!!

Welcome and congratulations on the new egg. While purchasing an new egg may have contributed to "loneliness", I have found that a few good meals cooked on the egg will likely have the opposite effect. Best wishes and enjoy!
