The wife bought turkey drumsticks today and wants me to cook them. Any ideas on how long and how hot.

Dr. BBQ's recipe in his book is to put the basic rub on them (brine them if you wish) and cook them indirect on the egg for 2 hours at 275. Wrap them in foil and cook for one more hour. I have cooked them brined and not brined with this recipe. Always good. (use wood to give them a smoked flavor).

    Jimbob,
Brine them or not; then put on a spicey rub (EZ-Life from Ken Stone comes to mind); cook them over a little fruitwood for smoke, indirect at 350 until they reach 175 internal. Turn them once about half-way through (total cooking time will probably be less than 1.5 hours. Have fun.

Do them all the time (as well as turkey wings). 400 Direct-Raised to 175. Very easy cook. Also if I want sauced I will add it the last few mins. Well less than an hour cook.
