Smokeware SS Cap & BGE Cover

I know lots of people don't cover their Egg and leave it in the elements for years and don't have problems but I was given a cover along with the table I got for my Egg and I really like using it. I'm thinking about asking Santa for the Smokeware SS Cap but wasn't sure if that would work the green table cover. Does anybody have any experience on that?

I leave mine on when I put the cover on and have no problems. Just have to be careful when you take the cover off because the smokeware cap likes to come off with the cover sometimes.LBGE, MiniMax, Weber Genesis and a hunger for all grilling knowledge! Aledo, TX

Thanks for the response. I am already having to be careful since the ceramic cap likes to come off with the cover as well. Santa has been notified.Maxwell1331 said:I leave mine on when I put the cover on and have no problems. @StellarEvo, I also use a full cover with my SS cap. I have always just been a bit careful picking up the cover over the cap, and had no problems.John in the Willamette Valley of Oregon

After dropping the SS top a couple of times, I just set the upper part on the table and then cover with the lower still on the XL.

I have the Smokware Cap and BGE table cover, never had an issue. If you get the cap, I recommend putting the felt gasket on the cap, rather than the chimney part. That way, for high temps, you don't have to worry about the gasket.Large BGE, Mini BGEMorgantown, PA
