Be careful out there while you choppin and dicing. I got careless after I sharpened my knives last night a cut a decent little chunk off the tip of my finger while chopping up some peppers for my salad.

OUCH! Been there done that. Wondering if you were making tomato based BBQ sauce?
-
At least it's not a fork picture. That'd be gross.

Nope, but my wife wouldn't eat the red peppers I was chopping up

I have never done that....and certainly never taken pictures of it...
This was right after I got my Ken Onion Worksharp. I sharpened a crappy slicer that came with a jerky making kit. Pulled it out of the cooler I had FTC'd a couple chickens in for a picnic. On the way out, barely touched my skin.Be careful out there.

Working at the restaurant when I was younger, I cut myself a lot it seemed like. The Greek guy that owned the restaurant would say "that's just experience". He would say the same when I burned myself too.------------------------------

I found it in about 3 pieces. It took me that long to figure out what happened. I was moving fast and careless. The knives got my respect back now!!!Little Steven said:Did you find the detached bit?

I had a similar instance while de-boning our Thanksgiving turkey. I stopped the bleeding and put a bandage on but lost the bandage later. Fortunately it didn't end up on anyone's plate

You win!! Don't know why but it about 2hrs for it to quit soaking paper towels. I wrapped it up and cut a finger off a nitrile glove and taped it on. When I got up this morning all the bandages were saturated. Learned my lesson, I hope-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. I sliced almost half way through my pointer finger after eggtoberfest a couples years ago. The next group over in the campground had a doctor that looked at it and I ended up meeting some people in their group that we still talk to. Crazy how the world works.

Ouch! Back in my woodshop days we used crazy glue on hand cuts. Fingertips heal up well, just try not to pick your nose with that one!! :-SChicago, IL - Large and Small BGE - Weber Gasser and Kettle

One should also not try and catch a knife as it's falling off your rib carving station.

We used to get something called BFI powder. It was great for stopping cuts from bleeding. Haven't seen it in years. Really is amazing how much a fingertip bleeds.Mattman3969 said:You win!! Ever since I learned to keep my blades sharp, I've learned how sloppy my technique is. As I zoom off to the bathroom for bandages, my wife says "What, again?" For awhile, it was ridiculous. I was taking blood thinners, and the slightest scratch would bleed for an hour.
Oh, and another pastime I have is woodcarving. My wife demanded that I get a carving glove. If you think the cut you get when pushing against a veg is nasty, try a slip when pushing against oak.

You can use it to make a "Just da tip" sushi roll
