The First Jefferson Eggfest Is Done
Spring Chicken
Posts: 10,255
It was very wet and only a few Tasters actually came to the first Jefferson Eggfest, but everyone agreed that it was worth it. We had fun and learned a lot. Now those who do the planning will know what to expect next year.
And yes, there will be a next year. October 10th, 2015. And probably in the same location. Hopefully, next year the weather will be a little drier.
As usual, Morrison Supply Company came prepared to host a first class Eggfest. They certainly did that and more. Their team not only sponsored the Meet and Greet on Friday, they provided all the Eggs, tents, and tables. And in spite of the heavy rain, they had everything in place early this morning for us Cooks. All we had to do was load the Egg and fire it up.
Meanwhile, the Morrison Cook team kept exciting and delicious food coming all day from their own Cook Tent. Those people mean business when it comes to promoting a product.
Most of those who did drop by the Eggfest were locals, and they seemed to have really enjoyed themselves. They genuinely appreciated our efforts to help support the Library and said so more than once as they made their way around to the Cook Tents, sometimes a second or third time. The look on their faces was priceless when they tried the various samples - first surprise, and then obvious enjoyment, often followed by, "It's absolutely delicious! How did you make this?"
Naturally, as Eggheads, we answered all questions, shared recipes and convinced them that the Big Green Egg was the best cooker on the planet. It was not surprising that a number of them purchased Eggs on the spot.
I'll be putting the photos in order and probably making some sort of movie after we return home. But until then, mark your calendar for October 10, 2015 to attend the Second Annual Jefferson Eggfest.

Thanks for the positive remarks, Spring Chicken. Everyone I have talked to around town had such a good time. They loved learning about the versatility of the Green Eggs - and sampling the delicious foods. I hope you don't mind me sharing your comments with the local newspaper. We look forward to having you back in Jefferson for next year's EggFest - if not before.

@GrillingOnTheBayou It was a little wet but we all had a great time. The location was nice and our hosts were outstanding. Both the Friends of the Jefferson Library and Morrison Supply went all out to welcome us to Jefferson. The people of Jefferson were absolutely wonderful and so nice.
This is one Eggfest that we will be sure to participate in every year.
Here is a link to the pics I took.
