Paella on the BGE

Cooked some Spanish paella today on the BGE for the first time. Cooked the chorizo, chicken thighs on the cast iron grate. Cooked the shrimp, salmon, and peppers and onions on the half moon griddle. After all was cooked I remove and set aside and started cooking the Spanish rice. Once rice was tender I added the cooked meat to the paella pan and let cook about 10 min. Turned out great! Also a glass f sangria to wash it down.

Looks nice!! Did you cook the chicken & chorizo completely on the grid or partial and finish in the paella juices?-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

Yes cook completely on the cast iron grate. Set aside in Pyrex while the rice cooked. Once rice was ready added back the meat and shrimp etc. and cooked for 8-10 min.
