Strong work. If you want to have some fun, you can tune the engine up by 80 or so horses and about that amount of torque with a DSG remap for around 1k. I'm thinking about doing it if we don't trade mine in since it's out of warranty. You can go further with a DPF delete but that may not be road legal.

Sadly I'm on my last Saab ('01 with 120K and immaculate; screw you GM!) and I'll probably go with VW next, they just feel right. This is the last year they build the EOS (I'm a convertible fanatic), I normally buy used, but I'd be perfectly happy if my current Saab dies two weeks after I do.:-bd

@botch get a Porsche. Or BMW. Or Mercedes. Or Audi. Lots of European manufacturers still make drop tops. Or get a Miata. The answer is always Miata.Botch said:Sadly I'm on my last Saab ('01 with 120K and immaculate; screw you GM!) and I'll probably go with VW next, they just feel right.

I got a 2013 Jetta TDI last year. I am in Sales and drive everywhere. Previously I had an Audi A4 and a VW CC . . . so this is much less luxury/horns/whistles, but I have been very happy with it. I learned that Turbo Diesels are a different animal though and need to be treated differently. EX: I just took my car to a TDI specialist for its 40K service on the DSG and cost me a cool $600. Here is a great website dedicated to VW TDI:Last week I got from Columbus Ohio all the way to Oshkosh Wisconsin on one tank! Also, they supposed to have a big following so resale value supposed to be better than average.Columbus, OH

It still blows my mind that I could go from Maryland to Charleston, SC on one tank as opposed to 2+.Too bad we had kids.NDG said:I got a 2013 Jetta TDI last year. I am in Sales and drive everywhere. Not on the 2014 they didn't...Mama Roneck said:+1 on JSW with the pano roof and 6 speed manual tranny. Much more fun to drive. Also, the wagon has a better rear suspension than the sedan. The wagon is basically a stretched Golf. OTOH the sedan has been built to price for the US market, so they replaced the multi link rear suspension with a less expensive alternative.According to VW website and brochure the 2014 jetta has multi link rear suspensionBoom -
Glad they did it right for 2014. They took some heat for switching to the solid rear a few years ago. We'll see you on the TDIClub and VWVortex forums now!FanOfFanboys said:Not on the 2014 they didn't..According to VW website and brochure the 2014 jetta has multi link rear suspensionMamaroneck -
Minor update: over 27K miles so far. total average is 40mpg. when i do highway trips I am averaging 45-46mpg. with price of diesel around $2.40/gallon I can fill up for $30-32 and run over 500 miles each time.
I might not be cool but I am frugal at timesBoom
