Anyone know where to buy dough for pizzas? I have a recipe to make it myself just trying to save a little time.

Try a local pizza joint or your grocery store.____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli

Not sure where you live but Publix Supermarkets has decent dough in their bakery section. I've heard some of the guys on here getting it from their favorite pizza restaurant. We use a bread maker. It turns out great, homemade dough, enough for 2 pizzas, in about an hour.

I buy it from the local pizza place. They make their dough, let it rise, punch it down, then form it into balls suitable for a 15 inch pizza and put it in the refrigerator to ferment a little more for use the next day. They sell those dough ball wrapped in plastic for $1. I usually buy several at a time and freeze the ones I don't use. They thaw suitable for rolling into a crust in about 8 hours in the refrigerator. It's a great crust. I've used them rolled out super thin for thin crust (my wife's preference), thicker for a chewier crust (my preference), or as the crust for calzones, deep dish pizza, Runzas, or crust-wrapped hot dogs or sausages.
I do agree that making pizza dough isn't difficult, especially if you have a bread machine. I've tried several different recipes with 00 flour, pizza dough enhancers..all kinds of tips and tricks found in hours of perusing the internet. In the end, I haven't made any pizza crusts that are substantially better than paying Rafferty's pizza $1 each and taking several dough balls home with me.

I'm in the Dallas, TX area

There is pizza crust yeast, I just bought it at Walmart, you don't have to let it rise. I make it in the kitchenaid mixer, so I'll fire up the egg, then make the dough, and about the time I have the dough ready and the pizza topped, the egg is heated up.

I buy it at Sams. They sell it in the food court area. The downside is some only sell it by the case. But it is less than $1 for a dough ball.Henderson TN. 1 large BGE, 1 Webber Gasser (recently seems to have converted into a warming oven)

Look for a small family owned Italian Market in your area. When I don't have time I buy from the one by my house for $1.50 a ball. I have another one that sells for $1.00 but It comes out softer and doesn't have that chewiness I like for the extra .50 cents.Dearborn MI

How is this dough? What's the cost for a case?Hunter1881 said:I buy it at Sams. They sell it in the food court area. The downside is some only sell it by the case. But it is less than $1 for a dough ball.

@apfroggy0408 I believe it was a case of 24. At my SAMs it was $18 tax and all. And it is good enough that I won't make my own. It is frozen. I put it in the fridge the night before. Then about 1-2 hours before ready to cook I put it on the counter. Ever since we started cooking pizza on the egg I can't do pizza from a chain restaraunt.Henderson TN. 1 large BGE, 1 Webber Gasser (recently seems to have converted into a warming oven)

Local pizza place or Trader Joes. Think they are $1.50 a piece at TJ's and we buy their crusts most of the time since we are there for other items anyway.MichaelWinston Salem, NC

If you have a Whole Foods Market near you they sell pizza dough balls fresh and frozen.
I can't remember the price, but I'd bet it cost two to three times more than anywhere else."I'm stupidest when I try to be funny"
