Rutland Installed (Thanks @RRP)

I received my Rutlands from Ron. Rolled the table into the lanai area so the weather wouldn't be an issue. Prepped by using foil and creating a way to stop debris from falling down into the egg. Using a putty knife and 3M paint stripper on my cordless drill the old gasket was removed pretty easy. Rubbed the rim down with a rubbing alcohol and a rag. Then hit it with the MAPP torch to ensure the surface is dry and oil free. Applied the Permatex and began installing the gasket...And then began the fun because my phone began blowing up with calls from perspective businesses regarding employment. Although it didn't turn out as purdy as I would've liked it to I am happy with it. Thanks for all the assistance Ron. And happy Anniversary to you and your bride :-)imageimageimageimage

I had $0 in my wallet so, I asked our Son if he had a dollar to use for the gasket test. He says all I have are Benjamins for books (college). I thought it was sort of humorous. :))

And for the record I had less than 1/2" of gasket to trim which was done when butting the ends together. So, listen and heed to the directions Ron provides with every gasket he ships.

You're welcome, Blake! Good thing that Benjamin didn't get stuck to the Permatex or otherwise "Junior" may had taken your egg to college with him!

The "dollar" test was done after the old gasket was removed (but, before the new Rutland was installed). Did it because I had to adjust the band's and hinge. I wouldn't have done that with wet Permatex. Lol

Bottom only - when you compress the Rutland it becomes both wider and thicker so only one gasket is needed.

I'm going to ASS-U-ME you're referring to installation of Rutland? No install to base only. But, of course remove the base and dome gasket. Because the Rutland is thick there is no need to have on both the dome & base.

Looks good Husker. I already bought my Rutland gaskets for both the large and mini from Ron. Both are good now, but when it's time, I'm ready...

Lol! I actually bought one for my LBGE and my Max (don't get all excited I don't have it yet :)) ). But, when I do my intention is to install it before I even use it.

I like the fresh load of lump ready to go!! I need to have Ron hook me up with a Rutland... Mine is toast on the XL. Should probably get one for the Med as well... I know that one will fry soon enough. Doing a tri-tip as we speak. @RRP when you get a chance, shoot me a pm and we can put an order together.
