@KiterTodd that's affirmative... Got egg up to 600 degs. Then put steaks on 4 mins per side ... Then shut egg down (close of all vents) then left steaks on for another 5 minutes ... Some folks get up to 700 and do less time ... But this has always worked for me

BigGreenGator, thaniks. I like cooks that don't require a lot of finese as long as you follow the procedure. 4, 4, 5. I'm guessing a nice rib-eye will end up MR or so after that? As long as it isn't well done, it's all good by me!

How thick were the steaks and have you ever tried reverse sear?
-
Looks awesome, what chips did you smoke them with?XL BGE, LG BGE, and a hunger to grill everything in sight!!!Joe- Strongsville, OH

@KiterTodd these were MR family likes them that way ... No leather around here

@cul-de-sac-er just over an inch and I have not done a reverse sear yet , but I will
@jcaspary Thanks ... I used small chip Hickory ... Had a good taste to them, minimal because of grill time but you could still taste a hint of it... Apple is good tooLarge Big Green Egg / Ceramic Grill 2 Tier grate / Maverick ET-733 / homemade egg station / Amelia Island Fl. "Go Gators"

WOW, just over and inch and 4 mins. per side and another 5?I usually cut my steaks from a rib roast around 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches thick and only do about 1 min 30 seconds per side and they come out great. Temperature I have the MBGE is usually around 550*-600*.
