London Broil on the Coals

Came home from work, cut the grass, and decided to pull a London Broil out of the freezer. Never done anything directly on the coals, so I decided to give it a try. I know, probably not the best cut to do over coals, but I'll never do steak differently!

Certainly can't complain about the results. That looks like a great steak.

Well....how was it?
These caveman cooks are peeking my interest....you don't get too much ash or lump crunchies on the meat?
It doesn't look like you need to a lot of lump for this. Seems that you only filled the firebox up halfway at best.
Do you cook with the egg open or closed when you go ca-ca-caveman?

WOW! The finished steak looks crazy good!

@KiterTodd best steak i have cooked. I'm forever changed. You're right it does not take a lot of coals. I got them going, left the vent and top open. When i put the meat on, it was well over 700*F. Cooked it about 2 min in each side then put back on the grid to finish to a internal temp of 130*.Greenville, SC Large BGE est. December 2013
