Kiln shelf for plate setter

Anyone use one of these kiln shelves as a plate setter??? Decent thickness and good temp ratings.

I've been using an old pizza stone, but want something more substantial.

I used a cheap pizza stone set on the oe grate, then a homemade raised grid for a while before I got a platesetter. Worked just as well, but it kept cracking so I finally got a platesetter, now saving for an ar.

The origin of the PS was a kiln shelf idea introduced by an egger years ago on the original forum created by Mr Miller - it was not a BGE idea.

I have bought a few shelves from these folks over the years and been EGGstremely happy. They are about an hour drive from me in Melboooring Fl.

They can be used without a problem as long as they haven't had kiln wash applied to them. New ones do not come with kiln wash applied so if you buy new you should be fine.

Yep!! I have a kiln shelf as a pizza stone.
Over 1/2" thick, 18" diameter . Cost $20 and $8 to ship.
