I know but I was thinking of starting this project tomorrow. I have to leave town next week for work for several days and will have very limited time for the next few weeks due to my 10 yr old's football practices (I'm the coach).paqman said:@minniemoh - you can order onlineOrdering online may be my best option. You could also try to find Mortons Tenderquick. It is a pre-mixed cure that is sold in most full service grocery stores. I have never used it, but many on this forum have. Also, if you know a chef, they usually keep pink salt on handXLBGE, Small BGE, Homebrew and GuitarsRochester, NY

Yes it is totally different. It is a mixture of regular salt, sodium nitrate, and pink coloring so it is not mistaken for regular salt. A good butcher may have it, I bought a pound online at Amazon, have not even used 2 ounces yet.SeahawksEGGHead said:Is pink salt different from pink Himalayan salt I see in Costco?
