Paella pan seasoning

I have had a paella pan for some time, bought it on sale at TJMaxx, but have been a bit reluctant to try it out. Does the pan need to be seasoned before I try to make my first paella? Inquiring mind wants to know.

I would clean it with warm soap and water, brillo pad if rusty and then a little peanut oil if metal and heat it up a bit. IMHO it really does not need to be seasoned like a wok or cast iron. Here are a few I have done:Naked Wizard has a great paella recipe and method.

Two paella pans and never seasoned-clean up as @Richard_FL-mentions and enjoy.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Thanks, was not quite sure how to get started. This helps.

The seasoning will happen by cooking on it. My paella pans were silver in the beginning and mow almost black.

Don't worry abt seasoning it. Make sure you find Bomba rice.

I have two. Never seasoned either. I use arborio rice. Just go for it. It is a fun and festive cook, and delicious
