My very first butt cook.
- Applied rub, kept in fridge overnight - well, 11PM-5AM :-)
- Put on indirect at 300 for 5 hours (it was a 4.5 lb butt)
- Temps after 5 hours were between 175-190
- Foiled, went back on BGE at slightly above 300 for 1.5 hours. Temps between 205-208 at various places.

- Took off, rested for an hour, and pulled
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I hope it was not beginner's luck, but at this time I don't care. I have eggcelent pulled pork to last me a couple days :-)

Welcome and great job! Pork butts are a very forgiving cook so your choice was excellent! Have fun!Flint, Michigan

Beautiful bark. That's not luck. Now that you've shaken off the first time jitters you can get crazy with different smoke woods, etc.1 LBGE in Chapel Hill, NC

Nice work! And, even if it was luck, never, ever, admit that!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada
