All I can say is WOW. Im a proud new addict
New to the egg scene. Im 59 and been a serious outdoor cook for most all my life, and a pretty good one too
Bought a large egg about a month ago and can"t stop cooking on it. I have a Klose competition grill sittin beside it and don"t think ill ever use it again.
Cooked 2 9lb butts for the 4th and must say they were among the best Iv'e ever done . Cooked them all night and the temp held all night.
Received much advice from you guys, thanks. Love the forum and to being part of the group.

Welcome! Where are you located? If your Klose begins to gather dust and you are ready to sit it by the curb, I'm sure you might find a taker here.

Thank you. In Florence, Mississippi.
I'll either sell the Klose or keep it for large cooks. Would prefer to sell, but hard to find someone willing to pay my price. Its a wood and charcoal eating monster.

Welcome! Yeah, the Egg is an amazing instrument.
An analogy: Years ago I banged away for hours on an old upright piano. Eventually the piano tuner told me that the mechanism really was just about shot, and I should consider a new piano. I followed his advice, and bought the best one I could afford. Suddenly I found I was not as crummy a player as I thought.
Eggs the same.

For over 40 years I've just thought I was good on a grill. Now, because of this damn egg thing, I am good. This thing is an amazing piece of cooking equipment.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey! Degree of Kool-Aid consumption a matter of personal choice.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

@mslaw Welcome! It sounds like you're an experienced cook. FWIW each cooker has a time and a place. Let the "newlywed" thing wear off a bit before you sell your competition Klose. Don't misunderstand me I love my LBGE and it's the only one I have. At one point I had a decent gasser (needed many repairs so I 86ed it) and an older stick burner offset (which I gave to an old friend). I'm extremely happy with mine. I'm just saying don't be hasty just yet. Enjoy it my friend. Sounds like you're off to an eggcellent start

The Klose isn't going anywhere unless money hits the table.
Thanks to everyone for the welcome aboard, I'll try to be a good learner and a good contributer. Probably better contributer after a afternoon libation. Looking forward to this. Thanks folks.
