Green Lightning Shrimp!

So I broke down and did these tonight. I altered a bit of course. As most of us probably do from our experiences. So I will try and detail exactly what I did here.

I followed the marinade recipe to the letter:

While the shrimp were in the marinade I started to deviate from the recipe. I lit the Egg and got it up to about 400. At this point I scraped the grate clean and got it up to around 450. Once I hit 450 I open the egg and close the bottom vent completely. This is how I cook my shrimp and sear my steaks. For about 5-7 minutes you will get some sparks flying and that is normal. The coals will ash over and the grate area is good and piping hot for grilling shrimp or searing steak, IMO. It will begin to look something like this:

Next, the shrimp went on for 2 minutes per side. I time it.

Finally, I add the butter mixture to a pan I cook on the grill. I add it just after I flipped the first time. 2 minutes later the butter will have melted and I added the shrimp right to the pan with the butter mixture and stirred the bowl just before serving. I forgot to get a picture of the finished product plated. I was in too much a hurry to eat this one!! Is definitely a cook I will do again!

Last year I didn't get a picture of this plated. Did this again last night and got the picture I missed last year! Cooked it exactly the same way as above.

Looks great! I like the technique of cooking the butter on the egg. These are on my to-do list.Links to the recipe for anyone interested:Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
