Found a place in Michigan that carried Rockwood charcoal about 45 minutes from my house. Drove up and noticed they were a Dizzy Pig distributor. After all the bragging you guys did on here I bought a 32 oz container. KIlled me to buy someones else's rub LOL. Tried it the first time tonight on chicken and it turned out well. I can tell it will shine on pork much better. I bought the Original Dizzy Dust fine ground.

I do like supporting local dealers..but its hard to argue to convenience of the internet as well. Most of my dealers are 20-30 minutes away. Not horrible...until you do the drive and they don't have what you want in stock or are unexpectedly closed.I recently used Firecraft.com for 100 lbs of lump (60 lbs Rockwood and 40 lbs Ozark Oak). Free shipping over $100. You may want to order from them to save some time. I do have to admit the only bag of Rockwood I've used has been smaller pieces, probably due to shipping. But the Rockwood has been great. Firecraft also has a nice variety of rubs, including Dizzy Pig, which I love.Large BGE, Mini BGEMorgantown, PA

Yeah, just wanted to check out the store. Bought two bags at $5 more a bag than Firecraft. They had some other things in stock like that Stainless cap people are bragging about on here to replace the daisy wheel etc. At least I could see a lot of stuff in person and not just blindly ordering.Dearborn MI

Just checked, paid $2 more for the 32oz Dizzy Dust so not too bad, plus gas of course but I was bored LOLDearborn MI

Is the charcoal protected from the rain when they ship in case of an unexpected storm?Dearborn MI

@KenfromMI when I got my charcoal from Firecraft, it was in two separate, large cardboard boxes. So it would probably be fine in a soaking rain for a little while.Large BGE, Mini BGEMorgantown, PA
