Got some Smithfield pork loin riblets on sale. Is anyone familiar with exactly what cut they are? Do you cook them like ribs or loin?

Since they are "loin", I'd say they are the opposite side of the ribs by the spine, where the curve is.Fear the Turtle.

That is what I was thinking. I've read that Applebee's sell "riblets" that are actually from the vertebrae instead of ribs. I guess you still cook them like ribs though.

I doubt Applebee's really knows which end of the pig they came from_______________________________________________XLBGE

Riblets are awesome! I can get a twenty pound box of them for fairly cheap. I'm surprised we don't hear more about them on this forum.NW IOWA

We like them quite fine. I actually bake them (yes in the oven) with some salt, pepper, gahlic powder and cayenne, then finish them on the grill with sauce. Family favorite. When I'm not Eggin', I'm scootin' Eggin' and 'cueing from Temecula Ca; an hour from San Diego, an hour and five minutes from Palm Springs, and an hour and a half from Los Angeles (yeah, right. With THAT traffic?)

Assuming they actually even come from a pig.MrCookingNurse said:I doubt Applebee's really knows which end of the pig they came from
