I'm moving to Madison for a new job in June and was wondering if we have any eggheads there.  If so, has anyone set up a Rockwood lump buy yet?

My sister lives there, great town but she doesn't have an egg...if you like Mustard check out the Mustard museum in Middleton they have everything you can think of and you can try before you buy.

    Great city!

Don't know about the local Egg scene, but I do know that Madison is the home to my favorite purveyor of Japanese knives -- Mark Richmond of Chef Knives To Go.  You haven't really lived/cooked/cut if you haven't experienced the phenomenal steel, geometry, and sharpenability (new word?) of a really good Japanese knife.

    Sorry that's totally off topic...
I will never cook inside again.

Welcome! While I see BGE around the area on decks and such there is not a lot of talk on here from people in the area. Several from the Fox Valley area (Appleton, Neenah, Green Bay). Would be interested in getting a group for a buy.

The dealer for the area is Kessenich's it is a restaurant supply store and they do have a web site

@dlk7 when the time comes for a group buy on Rockwood, I would definitely be interested in getting in on that. The best I have around here is Grove and while that is "ok", it doesn't hold up on the long cooks. Enjoy Madison! I lived there for quite a while. The fastest way to make friends is to have a cooler of Spotted Cow and some delicious wings ready to go at about 9:00 on the morning of a Badgers home football game!
