Royal oak charcoal sale at wal mart

I didn't think I had room to store any more than one, maybe two bags of that 17.62 pound, $8.00 Royal Oak at Walmart, but we decided to go see if they still had some. Sure enough, there was a display with 14 bags in the middle of the isle up by the main entrances. I loaded up ten of them because each bag felt like it contained medium to large pieces of lump. I would have bought all of them but I don't want to sleep with the stuff.

I made it fit in my General Purpose shed and my Lump/Smoking Wood storage shed.

It was tight, but now I've got to cook something to justify storing about 300 pounds of charcoal.

If my cyphering (math to you'se guys who went to skool), I figure I need to spend right at $1,500 on meat and stuff to cook. $1,500 ÷ 300 = $5.00 per pound of meat. Add to that multiple bottles of rum, wine, beer, cokes, cream cheese, chips, salsa, etc and "I'm An Egghead" shirts, and this cooking hobby gets expensive.

But then there's parties, eggfests, ice chests, airplane tickets, hotels, rental cars, EGGcessories, cameras, outdoor kitchens, Staff to pay, electricity and flowers to add ambiance and the list just keeps going and going and going.

And it's worth every penny.

Must be for y'all too.

Picked up four bags at Geneseo NY walmart tonight. Theres about a half a pallet left in the main aisle way back by the seasonal area by the pet section. Im stoked (pun intended) I havent even got my brand new egg yet! But I'll be ready. Im pscyched about trading up from my weber! I love reading all the posts here!!
