Kinda OT! Loving my Looftlighter Christmas Gift!

The weather in Northern Illinois warmed up enough this weekend for me to try out the new Looftlighter I was given by the in-laws for Christmas! All I can say is WOW! I've used BGE starter cubes until now and am impressed! Good hot fire in 5 minutes instead of 30!

I love mine. One thing I learned from someone else is to light it in the 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock positions and in the middle. It will evenly light that way. Next to the AR, I think that is my best buy for the egg.
Large, soon to have another size TBD

Love my Looftlighter. I was talked in to buying it when I first purchased my egg and couldn't be happier. +1 on lighting it in multiple locations for a more even fire.Large - Mini - Blackstone 17", 28", 36"

press the ON button once and HOLD it until all spots are lit, I believe the repeated on/off surges killed my first one within a few months, the free replacement has been working almost a year and no problemcanuckland

My egg is on our wood deck - should I have any concern with sparks?Columbus, OH

I don't think you would have an issue with using it on a wood deck. The sparks dont really "live" that long and from what I have seem they are usually burned out before they hit the ground. Of course that is not saying that something could happen...
Large, soon to have another size TBD

NDG just to be safe you can hose down the wooden deck prior to trying to light the egg wet wood will not burn just saying if your worried that will work2 Large Eggs and a Mini 2 Pit Bulls and a Pork shoulder or butt nearby and 100% SICILIANLong Island N.Y.

Ok - looks like a bada$$ toy and nice to hear some raving fans. I am also looking fwd to using my looflighter to ignite logs in the living room fireplace next winter. No more firestarter logs!Columbus, OH

I use mine on a wood deck without incident. I would only worry if you had sawdust soaked in Kerosene around the base of your egg.
