Chili Question Using CI DO

I have a 7qt CI DO I plan to use on a LBGE. Based on some previous discussions it looks like the place setter is strong enough hold the DO. Do you usually place it directly on the place setter or use a simmering mat?

Raise it with a few nuts or copper pieces. Form some sort of air space.

If your DO has legs no need for spacers. Also, if your DO has legs, its a b@*#h for direct cooking without the plate setter if you want to brown/sear something in the DO. Legs and cooking grid disagree with each other.

My DO is a model without legs. I put my platesetter in legs up then put the grate on top. Place the DO on top of the grate.
