As expected this time of year, saw a huge pile at Costco Vaughan today, $12.99 for 8Kg. Planning to pick up some before end of summer.

Also expecting Lowes' Canada Day deal on blue bag RO @ 50% off (in store or free UPS shipping)

Sure can, as I did last year. They've done it for three years in a row, last year it was from June 28 through July 1 (or 2?)

Basques for $15 at your butcher is not bad, I've seen them at bbq dealers for $20.

Costco here only carries Stubbs lump, which is pretty lousy stuff.

  • Gary, the local Basque distributor will let you buy all you want, year 'round, for 12.20/bag

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

Thanks John, yes I remember that.  However, Costco is more convenient and I still have about 25 bags of assorted brands in my garage (more than I thought)! I may just wait till Canada Day to restock.

    Yep, that's the one.

@TexanOfTheNorth -- I will have to figure out if there is a Basque distributor here in Ottawa and find out if the same option is available to me.

Wished we could get the Basques Nature's Own sugar maple lump in this part of the world. Last year I ordered a couple of bags of sugar maple chips and really liked them..
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

That's what Costco has here, too.  It's a Cowboy brand.

Here's a link to their 'contact us' page. You can call then and ask if there is a distributor in Ottawa. That's how I found the Toronto distributor.

If you like the charcoal from CostCo you should get it before the end of June, local CostCo was pretty much done with all there outdoor furniture and bbq supplies by then.
