Mickey's Tonight or Mickey's Tomorrow?

Just finished cutting on the chicken for tomorrows plan of my first spatchcock. Another local Egghead and I had been discussing Mickey's rub and he was going to make a batch to try. To make a long story short, he brought me a sample to try.
The question is do I rub it on tonight while it sits in the fridge, tomorrow before I put it on the egg, or somewhere in between?

I rub while getting ready.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

Read the title and thought you were talking about the malt liquor. It's been a while since I grabbed a six of Mickey's wide mouths. That might taste funny on the chicken, though.

Did a Spatch **** chicken tonight with Mickeys rub. Put it in around 2 today and tossed on the egg around 6. Chicken was awesome as usual. One funny thing did happen tonight, we never eat the skin as trying to stay slightly healthy (I do apply rub under the skin as well) but my wife did a drive by and grabbed a chunk of skin and ran out of the kitchen gobbling it up. She said it was the best chicken skin she has ever stole.

Couldn't stand that s^^^ when I was in college, and I'm of the mind set that if I won't drink it, I won't cook with it. Probably why I don't cook with any wine, but lots of whiskey and beer. The Mickey's Spatchcock turned out AWESOME!
Rubbed Mickey's over the outside, and under the skin of the breasts with some butter and let it sit for about an hour. Put it one raised direct at 350. Did it breast up for the first hour, then flipped for the final 15-20 minutes to crisp up the skin.
Also did some asparagus in foil with some scallions, garlic, butter and lemon pepper. Steamed for about 10 minutes, in the foil, then grilled to finish off. Also made up some Rice a Roni.
erniemcclain for mixing up the Mickey's rub for me to sample. Thanks to @Mickey for the great rub. This is going to become a staple in my spice cabinet.

@tkleager, you can make a compound butter with Mickey's rub the morning of the chicken cook. Put butter in fridge to firm up and then place thick cut slices of the butter under the skin. Be generous in breast area and don't forget the thighs.
