Brisket Flat Question

Hello. I have successfully cocked several larger briskets but have never done a flat. Do they cook a lot faster or about the same time per pound? Thanks

I've never had any luck with flats alone. They need a braise IMHO. Travis had a thread...oh nevermind.

They cook faster since there is less fat to break down. Smoke to 170 then wrap with braising liquid and cook to 195.

Mine has been on for 4 1/2 now. IT is at 190. It weighed a little over 5 pounds when I put it on.
